Maurice’s Campground
In the coming months, our dedicated committee members will be generously donating their time to facilitate a series of focus group meetings. Our aim is to host as many as we can to enrich the planning process.
We’re eager to connect with a diverse range of individuals, each bringing their unique experiences and viewpoints to the table. Our goal is to engage with as many voices as possible in this limited timeframe. To ensure everyone gets a chance to speak, we’re keeping each meeting small with a maximum of eight participants in a given meeting. It is anticipated that a meeting will take roughly an hour.
We’re excited to hear your thoughts and ideas. Thank you for your interest in the future of Maurice's Campground!
We respect your privacy. Any information provided in this form will be kept private and not be used for any other purpose than to form and schedule focus groups for Maurice's Planning Committee.

March 14, 2024: The Wellfleet Selectboard and the Maurice’s Planning Committee are very pleased to announce the selection of a strong team of Architects, Community Planners, Engineers, and Financial Analysts to provide master planning services for the 21.25 acres known
as Maurice’s Campground. The proposal selected is that of Studio G Architects of Jamaica Plain and Wellfleet. Gail Sullivan, managing principal of Studio G also designed Lawerence Hill Affordable rentals in Wellfleet which will soon begin construction. “The Planning Committee was very impressed with the completeness, creativity, and enthusiasm expressed in the Studio G proposal and the interview session that followed,” states Ryan Curley, Chair of the Committee. May 31, 2023: The Maurice's Planning Committee on May 24th, 2023 voted unanimously and reluctantly to pull the RFP for Master planning services. We plan to re-issue the RFP after the fall special town meeting. There is no issue with the RFP. However, there are issues with the town's ability to proceed with the work at this time.
The loss of key staff and the failure of the Housing Coordinator position leaves the town in a position where it cannot provide the resources necessary to facilitate the planning process. There remains work that needs to be done on initiatives and projects currently underway that have been provided by departed or departing staff. The planning committee hopes the town will be better positioned to reissue the RFP in the fall, optimally after the special town meeting. To read the full press release, click here.
April 27, 2023: The Town of Wellfleet is seeking sealed proposals from professional firms or teams with blended expertise in the areas of neighborhood planning, site design, architecture, affordable housing development, and community engagement, to work with the Town-appointed planning committee to create a Master Plan for the 21.5 acre site known as Maurice’s Campground which is located at 80 State Highway, Wellfleet, MA.
